Wonderful Wheatgrass
In my last post about Wheatgrass, I showed you how you could juice store bought grass (as soon as you buy it) and freeze the juice in ice cube trays to later add to your Drinks and wrote about Wonderful Benefits of Wheatgrass. Benefits of Wheatgrass
Here, I’m going to show you how to Sprout your own Wheatgrass. First of all, it’s expensive in the Store to buy ready Sprouted, Cut and bagged Wheatgrass, so you will save alot of money by Sprouting your own Wheatgrass. If you are thinking of, or you already Juice and Drink Wheatgrass daily (which I recommend), then Sprouting your own Wheatgrass is the way to go. Plus, it’s fun watching your Grass Grow.

I bought my Wheatgrass Seeds online from a reputable Organic Dealer and ordered a 5lb bag. That’s alot of seeds, but if you Juice almost every day like I do, these seeds will be gone in no time. I have the Kempo Juicer which is a twin slow gear system to keep the Nutrients in tact. I’ve had it for over 8 years now – it’s a tank and worth every penny!

So the first thing to do is wash the seeds thoroughly and add 4-8 Tablespoons of Seeds per Sprouting Tray. You can pretty much grow Wheatgrass in any Container that has drainage ability.Cover with Filtered Water and let drain through the different Trays, but I suggest investing in Sprouting Trays. Mine here in the pictures are 3 Trays high. Once all Trays are emptied of excess water, empty the Last Tray full of water. Cover and put in a dark place overnight. Repeat this for the next day as well. On the 3rd day, you should start seeing some Sprouting happening. I’ve been doing this for a while now, so I stagger my Sprouting so I always have Grass for my Juicing. If I didn’t have a Puppy, I would grow Wheatgrass instead of Conventional Grass!

Once the Wheatgrass is high, firm and bright Greeeen, take a pair of Scissors and cut the Grass at the same height as the Tray. Add the Grass to your Juicer a little bit at a time. You will be pleased to see that 2 Trays of Sprouted Wheatgrass, will net you approximately 2 oz of “Green Power” Wheatgrass Juice.

You can either drink this 2oz shot all at once, or add some RAW, Organic Coconut Water to the Wheatgrass and have a full glass of Juice (which is what I like to do).

Once the Wheatgrass is clipped, it is easily removed in one piece. Add to your compost, and start all over again!

Cheap & Cheerful … Enjoy!
